    M52 Oil pan gasket.

Hey all, been trying to dig around. Is there any other way to go replacing the oil pan gasket without dropping the subframe? Car is M52/ZF based and dropping subframe isn’t doesn’t sound like fun right now. Are we able to remove the mounts and snake the pan out? I used to do that on my m20 car a lot? Tried digging around but kept finding m20 based threads. Just want to start to prep for this.

I don't think you will be able to clear the pick up tube. In the m20, some people removed the pick up tube and that gave them clearance. I am not certain that the m5x will be the same. I dropped my subframe, but i did not remove it from the car. I disconnected the steering rack to steering shaft. Then I removed the bolts and installed longer bolts that would allow the subframe to be lower but not be a mofo line back up with a jack. I found this easier than trying to install the pick up tube with an oilpan in the way.
