So I was given an S50 block, now what?

Went to pick up some non BMW related stuff from a guy and found out he had an S50 block (either S50 or S52, can't remember) and gave it to me. I was thinking of maybe building it for a turbo setup. I've heard that S50/S52 stuff is pretty expensive to begin with, I would rather keep it on somewhat of a budget. I'm still pretty new to BMW engines, but have built a few small blocks, but I understand that a BMW engine is a completely different animal. I've read that I can run M50 components inside the block, is this true? What are my options?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sell it and buy a complete engine. You'd need quite a few parts to build it up from the block...not for the budget minded really.

s50 block you will need s50 pistons and rods and crank. if its an s52 you wil need s52 pistons rods crank. you can tell by measuring the bore. 86mm bore is s50, 86.4mm bore is s52. this wont be cheap. sell it to me.

Yeah you will save a ton of money by selling it plus when you think about it you will need more things after you buy all the parts to complete that block. when you can just start with a complete motor with nice miles on it.
