obd1 coils on obd2 manifold... dont fit?

what's the secret? there are little tabs that seem to be in the way. i knew i'd have to use a dremel for the wiring, but can someone enlighten me?

I just noticed this as of late while throwing all my m50/m52 stuff together. I'd like to know as well.

Why not just use a M50/S50 valve cover?

Because the plastic m52 unit looks much better.

The valve cover has to match the coils.

i'm 95% sure some people use obd1 coils with an obd2 valve cover.

Really? I'm thinking the opposite. I can't really check since I don't have OBDI coils. I do have both covers though. I can't remember correctly now.

Why not just keep the OBD-II coils? Or do you not have them..? It might be related more to the age of the coils than anything, but I see a ton of the OBD-I coils fail. Havent seen near as many OBD-II coils fail, they seem to be better anyway.

I have the OBD-I harness with an OBD-II valve cover, coils, and vanity cover. I had to trim the vanity cover a bit to clear the coil wires.

ohh ok, i thought coils had to match the harness. damnit.

                    FS: 6 obd1 coils
                    WTB: 6 obd2 coils

                    who wants to trade?

Precisely what I plan to do.

The coils have a different stagger to the holes, found this out when I switched covers and only had 5 OBD1 coils to use. I did manage to use 1 OBD2 coil until I decided to put the OBD2 cover back on...
