So my high pressure hose finally gave out. Which one should I get since its a swapped car. I saw on tischer they had one for $30, which was from a e30 325, would that one work? Its a heck of a lot cheaper than any of the others, which makes me wonder. I had the e30 318is one so I'm wondering which I should get now.

I have the e36 lines in my car with the reservoir mounted low and out of the way. I like the cleaner look, less crap to route the intake and other items around. Filling is slightly more difficult but its nothing a nice funel can't handle. I don't know if there would be any disadvantage/advantage for having a 318 vs 325 vs e36 etc. etc. I haven't checked realoem on part numbers maybe one is better than the other? I dunno someone else can chime in on that one.
I have a spare e30 (m20) res, lines etc. if your interested pm me.sigpic

The E30(M3) uses a 14mm high pressure fitting to the top hole on the PS pump. It uses a 16mm low pressure fitting on the lower port.
The E36 uses opposite sizing and port location, at least on the S52 PS pump.

Otherwise you could have simply hooked things up as they were...on a 1991 E30 M3. Look at the PS pump graphics for your E30 chassis and the E36, and trace the high pressure line from the rack to the pump.

It looks like the power steering diagrams for the E36 on RealOEM are incorrect.
My chassis is an E30 M3. The high pressure line (16mm to 14mm dual male adapter and a 14mm flange nut) attaches to the top of the Pump and the low pressure (16mm Banjo Fitting) connects to the lower port on the pump.
I initially connected the original E30 lines to the corresponding ports on the E36 pump.
When I checked the connections as compared to the E36 diag on RealOEM, it appeared that I was wrong and that the ports were reversed on the E36 Pump.
So I obtained a high pressure E36 Hose(14mm Banjo) and a Low pressure hose(16mm Banjo).
They can only be connected to the E36 Pump in the same positions as they were on the E30.
This means that on the E30 M3 chassis , you can reuse the E30 M3 lines and fittings in the same positions as they were on the S14 power steering pump.

Yes, that is true.
A lot of the swap literature recommend E36 hoses, but only the E36 Low pressure hose can be used, and you have to relocate the reservoir to the engine mount arm for this to work.
