s52 OBDI -- which coil packs?

I'm swapping my s50 for an s52 OBDI -- got a killer deal on an s52 that I couldn't pass up. Low miles, from an automatic car, etc.

Anyway, I've tapped the s52 head and threaded it for the proper coolant sensor and I will be using the same OBDI harness from my s50 motor.

Which coil packs should I be using? Can I keep the OBDII coil packs from the S52 on the motor? Tuners sell OBDI or OBDII coil packs, since I'll be using an OBDI harness do I need OBDI coils?

    Thanks

you can use either it just takes a little modification to use obdII because of how the harness connects.

Use the OBD2 coil packs. The OBD1 Harness connectors match just fine.
Dremel a couple of channels through the ridge on the s52 Cam cover for the wires to pass thru safely.

gracias amigos. I wasn't sure what the difference was, but if it's a valve cover compatability issue I'm not concerned.

here's a pic of the new project. Swapping out the s50 for an OBDI s52 that I picked up on the cheap. Tore it down on Saturday night and taking the bottom end into the machine shop tomorrow for rehab. Will be rebuilt as stock for now with new bearings and gaskets. Engine block was missing an ear at the front corner from a front end accident. Had only 43k and came from an automatic car, picked up another 3.2l block, and basically just going to swap the parts over. Pretty excited to have a virtually fresh motor in the car.

very low compression :) Pistons were still sitting on the other table.

Jason -- I will take you up on those cam blocks. I didn't see this coming either, the opporutnity kind of fell into my lap, literally! Plus, I had some time to kill :)

CRAP. I'll never catch you now. (like there was a chance in hell of that anyway.)

When do you plan on having it in the car and running? Before July BHF?
