    1993 525 = Getrag 250??

    A 1993 525i M50 Vanos stick shift car has a Getrag 250 trans, correct?

Whats the pros and cons of the 250 vs the ZF trans?

    Thanks!

Pros, I believe the 250 is lighter than the ZF. Cheaper, too. Cons, might be weaker than the ZF, but I haven't had any problems with the 250 behind an S52.

I'm thinking of swapping from my current 260 to a 250 setup.

              Worth it?

easier to mount. easier to find parts for. no more half-rotated shifter. i would say so.
