s52 obdI maf or euro 540 maf...

I am about to order a TRM chip for my obdI s52 that I plan to swap over next week from my m50. Debating going with the OBDI maf that I already having or picking up the 3.5" maf and getting a chip to match. I really do not want to go up to 24lb injectors as I have heard it is overkill unless it sees the track a lot, which my car will not.

So...is there a huge gain with the 3.5" maf over the obdI 3" maf? Also with the 3.5 do I need to get a different neck that goes from the MAF to the throttle body?

I want to order the chip ASAP,

If it's an M50, I would save the money. Stock MAF and injectors are fine up to S50 power levels, or more.

Hmm, I guess if I had read the first half of that line I would know that.

I guess I would probably go for the euro MAF for an S52.

I didnt have mine tuned when I had the stock MAF, so I cant compare. But my OBD1 S52 with the big MAF and the TRM chip is excellent. For what it's worth, I'd say go for the big one while you are upgrading the car.

A stock S52 does not need the larger injectors and will not benefit from them at all.

^^I'm running the 21.5 lb pink injectors.

My opinion-- I just see it as wasted fuel. There is room in the software to make better use of the stock injectors, so rather than dump more fuel, use software as the answer. A lot of people talk them up, but I dont see enough of a benefit.

Just drove my car for the first time in a week (I've been out of town). It drives so nice.... Get the MAF and finish her up! :)

I have S52 with 540 MAF, but I am using 24lbs. Works good and I get around 18mpg when not fooling around.

Ouch! That's pretty good MPG for an S52. My stock m20 is getting 18 mpg.
