help with dipstick mounting?!?

ok, i know i sound like a total dumbass asking this, but how the hell does the dipstick support bracket work? it doesnt want to line up with anything. when i pull it in to try to get it close to the holes in the block/E36 mount arm, the top of the tube just hits the intake manifold. and its maybe 3/4 of an inch away from the mount still, no matter the block. ive trippled check all the parts and all the part #'s match the diagram below

i ghettoed mine and mounted it to the alternator air duct deal, it stays put

I rigged mine up with a small piece of 1/8" flat stock And bolted it the the manifold suport. Just use something like that to extend the dipstick to the manifold suport.

got it figured out today. i made some spacers out of tubestock that i put inbetween the tube mount and the block, and inbetween the tube mount and the e36 arm on the other side. then used some longer bolts. worked out pretty good.
