Pics of the progress 56k no

So it's taking us a lot longer than we anticipated to do this swap. But none of us had ever done anything like this. Original goal was to get it in and done by the picnic but that didn't happen. Now we have schedule conflicts which make it tough to find the time to work on it but tonight we made some progress on the swap. So far the mod list is a lightened m20b25 flywheel, Turner lightweight pulleys, 75 degree therm. stat and fan delete, Bimmerworld silican rad hoses, THR booster. Using ODBII down and mid pipes with a UUC system U exhaust. I have, but they won't go in right away, Bimmerworld 3.5" silicon intake hose, 3.5" HFM, s50 cams, will need proper chip to run and larger injectors, Dr Vanos stage 2 kit but that's down the road. Gettin it running is all that matters currently. On to pics. Thanks to Wishno87 and Matt B for all the help.

        Lets Race!

Now we can have a race to the finish!!! Sounds like your car will beat me at the strip or around corners but I think I will beat you at getting the engine running, I need to have mine done ASAP... Mine is my only car. Sorry I never got back to you about helping you with yours.

Here is my Progress... I need to start my own thread. Bottom one is kinda dark, but it is in and the intake is on... I later read that I had the heater hoses for the heater core backwards, and it was a PITA to change them without taking the intake back off.

Well if I finish before then I can come help you if you would like... If I don't finish it before I will be sleeping at the friend's house that is letting me borrow the front part of his shop, and waking up to work on it again. I am going over tomorrow evening (friday) and not leaving until it is done, or monday morning for work... Whichever comes first!

                And she's alive!

At Chevron getting gas since the original gas has been sitting for like 5-6 months.

Checking to see if things are A-ok after a little drive. And things were.

                Trevor working his magic.

At a local auto shop to get an air filter (notice it's not on at the Chevron)

I think it was for a code reader

Yes it's finally done. Thanks for posting those Eric, and thanks also to Trevor, Josh and Matt for your help on the work over the months. Right now it has just a shaved down flywheel, underdrive pulleys and fan delete. I plan to just get it back together and work out any lil kinks. I have sitting waiting to install s50 cams, 3.5" HFM, and silicon intake hose. Those will go on in a few months. It's a fun swap and is huge upgrade from the eta motor that was in there.

I have a one of those interfaces you can get off eBay so you can pull codes from any BMW. It works pretty well, and it was nice to see that the motor wasn't throwing any codes, even with the MAF on backwards. Amazing how much a difference it makes and how much better the car runs when the MAF is in the correct direction!

Can you tell me more about the code reader from eBay?
