    Drive shaft mid point bracket

Hey Im doing an m50 with a zf transmission from a 98 m3. What did you guys do about the midpoint bracket for the drive shaft? (The one with the rubber center that goes around the drive shaft where the two parts cennect) the one that came with the drive shaft won't fit. Should i use the stock one from the e30?

Let me know what you guys did

Stock csb for your e30. Late model and early model cars have diffrent ones. How in the hell did a m50 come out of a m3?

      Just the transmission did :)

How did you get the thing on/off? Is the bracket and the bearing one piece?

Take the driveshaft apart. There is a snap ring holding it in. Then use a hydralic press to get it off.

          the're two options.

1- e30 CSB. there's a late model and an early model. Swap it yourself (search r3v, no hydraulic press req) or get it swapped (take the driveshaft to a shop)

2- Mod the e36 bracket. I had to cut the tab supports and re-weld them to clear the e30 tunnel. you will have to open up the bolt holes as well.

          3- custom 1-piece AL driveshaft ; / i'm just kidding.

i did choice 1 like amonth ago. had to buy the snap ring tool ($13 at advance auto) and with a lot of patience and force slid the bearing out, hammered the new on in. done.
          No more e30s for me.

I did this. I cut the supports moved them closer to fit, welded them. It looks like it'll work. We'll see how it holds up

When you install the new e30 csb, do you install it the same direction as you took it off? Or do you turn it around and install it like it was when stock?
