s50 swap e30 m3- Diff Questions

Alright guys I need your help, I got a diff out of an automatic e28 528e...its and LSD and I read somewhere that I can use it for my swap. Now the big question is...How!? Do i use the e30 m3 diff case and swap the internals of the e28 diff into it? anyone have a thread on this that they can direct me towards....thanks!

Just swap the rear cover and drive flanges. If you want to swap internals take it to a shop.

Im more than capable of swaping the internals...I just like to research before I get into things...The diff from the e28 mounts in a different way so I dont see how I could just swap the rear cover and the flanges

What case do you have? I have a e28 diff in my car right now and all I had to do was swap the flanges and the diff cover.

Heres a picture of the diff I have...it came out of a 1986 528e


If im not mistaken the e30 m3 diff has a thing that comes up with a bushing

Wow...My bad honestly... I thought it wasnt part of the rear cover..I never really got a good look at it..its in the car still....yay for feeling like a jack ass now
