Hey, I've gotten alot of good info for my swap so I figured I would contribute. From looking at a freind of mines porsche 911 I figured the brake booster from that would work so I grabbed one off of ebay with the master cylender and everything. So anyway do to a shipping error I didn't get it for three weeks. In the mean time I decided to go with a manual master cylender instead. I got the 911 booster in the mail this morning so I decided to see if it would work anyway. I found that it bolts right up to the firewall but the rod is about 1.75" too short. So I quick made a little extension out of some spare 1/8" bar. It was all out of an 82 Porsche 911sc. On the master cylender the outlets are on the same side and the same fitting size so you shouldn't have to make any new lines.
here it is compared to a stock e30 booster
heres you can see the extension I made
