    Quick Clutch Questions.

So I bought a Sachs 618pp and 6-puck for my turbo m20... I have since acquired an m52 to swap into my car. Now I have a few different options on transmissions and clutches.

    I have a getrag 260.
I am thinking of purchasing a ZF trans. (have one lined up, just waiting to pull the trigger.)

I am not 100% sure on some of them, so I need some expert advice.

So my questions are as follows.

    1. What are my options (if any) in maintaining the sachs pp and disk with the ZF trans?
    - can I use the pp/disk with the ZF and an e36 flywheel? I know the m20 flywheel had a 228mm contact surface and the e36 has a 240.

2.Or should I sell my current stuff for this?

I plan to turbo this motor soon after getting it sorted out.

And I would just use the stock m52 starter in conjunction with the e36 flywheel/clutch kit?

You might want to consider that you won't be able to make your gearing as long with the ZF transmission as you would the getrag. I'm assuming if you are going turbo you will want longer gearing, so it would be worthwhile for you to lookup where your shift points will be on the ZF as opposed to the getrag before buying a new tranny.

This is very true. I have researched the differences between the two and it is really a toss up... I think they are both great transmissions having driven them both, and I would really like to be able to reach speeds in excess of 180mph (salt flats) although that is NOT the main purpose for the car.

The car will be a fun street car that will be tracked when I can. Oh and freeway manners are mandatory.

        180mph+ you'd probably need a 2.93 and a G260.

        And a lot of power.

Yea. I have a 3.25lsd in the car currently and a 2.79lsd that i want to try out. People have said that the ZF trans with a 2.79 is comparable to the 260 with a 3.73 or something close to that... I did not like the 3.73 with the 260 because of how short 1st was basically useless.

So does anyone know the answer to my question about using the same clutch/pp set up for either the zf or getrag?

This is false, the 2.93/zf is comparable to a 3.73/g260
