    Couple of quick questions

    1. Is there any specific depth I should install the new exhaust studs too?

The old ones pulled out when I yanked the stock headers off yesterday.

    2. I just remembered I got my THR swap adapter from a local BMW guy here, but I believe his car was an '87 "e" and my car is an '88is. Are there any connections that are going to be wrong?

I seem to remember reading the difference is going to be the speed signal sensor, which he had wired out of the harness to be able to plug in to the back of the cluster. Are there going to be any other incompatibilites?

Correction, it was an adapter for an '87i car.

To install the new studs, you merely thread a new locknut onto the stud, then use it to install the stud, and as it turns, it will bottom out and you just continue tightening the locknut until you reach the proper torque.

Yes. In addition to bringing the wire at the back of the cluster back over to C101 pin14, you will also have to bring the two connections made at C104 on an early model car back to the C101, and also make another connection to properly unload the electrical system at start.

The way it is wired right now, the tach won't work, the power windows and fan won't work, the DME will think you are revving in neutral, and the fuel consumption gauge won't work.

Damn, I didn't really want to have to do any wire hacking.

Any one want a THR adapter for an 87?
