Please tell me I'm not yanking my trans back out to fix that am I?
Yes it is the opposite for the m20 or any singe mass flywheel on production (i.e. - hondas, fords, etc.). Single mass flywheels have a lot more clearance within the bell housing and don't sit far from the engine as opposed to dual mass flywheels. Single mass flywheels should have the flat side facing the engine and the protruding end facing the transmission. For the dual mass such as s52s the flat end MUST be facing the transmission and the protruding end facing the block. The end result is a snug/forceful fitting when installing it incorrectly. I only know through experience sadly enough. =/

That sure sounds like it's rubbing on the oil pan.

Did you not read what he's running? He's running s52 with the ZF tranny it came with. There's no way in hell it will rub the oil pan and your thread is totally irrelevant to his situation.

I did but sounds like something is rubbing and is causing a vibration. I'm thinking some where there is a metal to metal contact. Little tired and need some sleep but thinking it's contact issue.

Lol. M-technik, sorry if I sounded harsh. I got pissed off today playing basketball at some punk who kept calling waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles fouls and playing like he was a ref and would do the total opposite when the ball was in his hand.

The part that is rubbing is the protruding side of the clutch disk making contact with the spline guard of the transmission. I personally had this problem so I do know what he is experiencing.

The clutch disk is rubbing against part 2 in this diagram.

It could also be your crank pulley bolts. Did you remove the A/C pulley and re-use the same bolts? If so, they are too long and will make that noise as they rub against your timing cover.

taking out the trans while the motor is in sucks. I'm pretty sure that it is clutch/flywheel related because i put the car in neutral and the noise disappeared for a couple seconds then started again. I thought it was in reverse when i turned it on but it wasn't, I didnt have my shifter linkages hooked up.

Once i finally get the trans out I will post up what I see.
