Help!!! S52 swap 99% done!!!

I finally got the swap finished today, I went to test fire and the starter wont spin!!

Details:
-S52 using getrag 260
-used m20 fly wheel and starter
-hooked up all three leads to post: large to main post, medium to medium post and small lead to small post
-automatic harness obd1 harness w/removed auto portions

Problem:
the starter clicks but wont spin. it seems like the shaft is moving in and out but not spinning.

Also there are three wires left over from converting the auto harness to a manual harness at the main plug of the harness. all are brown with another color like white, purple, ect. are these ground and can i get rid of them

any help would be greatly appreciated, I only have access to the shop and lift for a couple more days!!!

did you check the starter first...ie autozone/advance ?

Remove the starter, put a ground to the start, and put power to the power and another power to the small wire. It should spin there.
