    Another Booster Question Thread

I was under the impresion that the e30 325ix and the e34 M5 / e32 735i brake boosters were the exact same part. In looking at Real OEM the e30 has a different part number than the others.

What's the difference between the boosters that would caust a part number change?

    Thanks

I don’t know what the difference is.

One point of clarification though; according to RealOEM, there are two parts. The 735i used first the one found on the 325ix and later the one found on the E34:

    E30 325ix used part 34331161486 through ’92.

    E34 M5 3.6 and 525i etc. used part 34331160625

    E32 735i part changed from 34331161486 (as on E30 ix) to 34331160625 (as on E34) in 1990.

Good catch on the part numbers.

I'm guessing the case on the boosters is the same. The only difference could possibly be the volume of the booster.

Anyone know the difference between the e30 and m5 boosters? To buy a new one is $600 for the e30 where the M5 one is $200.
