Holes in cylinder head. Important or not so much?

On the intake side, there are three holes in the cylinder head towards the front of the motor. It is just above the knock sensor on the block. Can probably only see it with the maniold off.

What are they and what should I do with them? They are currently empty. (3 holes, all threaded, middle one is larger than outer two.)

If I want to bypass tb coolant, just block that off? It's unnecessary and only to warm up coolant quicker in cold weather climates, right?

edit: attached picture just in case people search this in future. 13, 14, 15 is what I am referring to. Thanks for the help so far Dom.

i fuckin hate daniels bmw and their damn parts department. closed today because of labor day on monday? so gay.

If they're all coolant holes, I can start the motor with them unplugged then? Want to make sure all my wiring and vacuum lines are right...

They are coolant sensors....one for the dme and the other for your cluster. Your wiring will be missing two sensors. The coolant for the dme is kind of important.

Looks like one is just a sensor. 15 is just a connector that dom says goes to tb. 13 is just a plug. obd1 has 2 sensors in there, obd2 only has 1 - it's a double switch in there apparently.
