    throttle cable questions.

    Hello.
I was wondering if the m3 cable was longer or short then
    the 325i cable. Same?

Thinking it's the same since it's basically the same engine.
    Just double checking.

you dont need it, it's just one of those anal things people do. I used my stock 325i cable and it works just fine, you do need to make a spacer for the extra length though, where the cable meets the TB

I bent a bracket to take the slack up. I've got the right cable, but because the stock one works, I havent ever gotten around to installing it.

I used my stock E36 M3 throttle cable. I took up the slack by zip-tying the end of the cable down to a lower part of the bracket on the TB.

After doing so, I noticed that I had perfect throttle movement from idle to WOT. Two years later, the zip-tie remains :)

I shaved some rubber from the fat stop grommet so that the adjust would be closer to the TB. Then adjusted the cable to get more slack.
I would to do the same to an E36 M50 cable as it is identical in dimensions.
