looking for suggestions, bought an s50 head...

i picked up an s50 head from a 95m3 it was overheated and cracked.... so i bought it for the cams for my m50..should i use the cam trays too or use what ever trays look best? Also thinking about pulling of my head (get it checked out) and get a new head gasket, not sure if i should go stock or mls.... should i use other parts from the s50 head in my m50 head besides the cams and trays? i know after 96 the springs/retainers are better. should i get new springs and retainers? also thinking about getting a dr.vanos stage2. probably just get a head gasket kit with all the gaskets for the top of it and the stock head gasket.....

what else should i change... i bought a new upper timing chain already, 99% sure I'm getting the stage 2 dr.vanos, i also have new head bolts. this is my project for the winter.... dyno'd at 188rwhp 167tor as it is now... looking to get it over 200 by spring....

also should mention its my summer daily driver/auto-x car... so it does get abused a little....


any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated...

If your car runs fine and doesn't leak oil I think it's crazy to do all of that, and I'm pretty sure the cam tray part #'s are the same for M50 and S50's, but check that on realoem. But if your car is pretty healthy which it probably is I'd just slap the cams in and forget it, vanos if it's rattling, but pulling the head as preventative maintenance is pretty crazy.

ya i was starting to think that too.... why bother pulling the head. prob wont. yes vanos it getting worse. i know the trays are the same but i know some people say its better to keep the trays with the cams they always were with... guess ill see what looks best.... what about lifters/springs and stuff should i upgrade any of it or use any of it from the s50 head? wont be getting over 7k with the new tune.....
