TRM Chip & Injector Question

I have an M50/S50 Cams/540 HFM/24# Inectors. And a chip from TRM that has been burned with all that information.

Well the issue is that I got my 24# Bosch injectors from a V6 Taurus or something like that. I checked the part number and with the BAR pressure, flow, and impedance etc. etc., everything was peachy. I got them ultrasonically cleaned and put them in.

Well unfortunately you get what you pay for. They all leak slightly, making start-up a bitch and smokey a little.

My question is: I am looking at turner MS and bimmerworld's 24# injectors. Will either make a difference with my chip? Does a tuning company like TRM have a specific 24# injector they burn into the chip?

How come TMS's injectors are anorexic and bimmerworld's are fatter like stock m5x/s5x injectors? Does it matter?

I am asking you guys because I have left multiple messages with TRM and receiving no replies.

If the injector is rated at 24 lb/hr it will work fine for you. They dont really match it to a specific "model" of injector, they just look for the proper flow rating.

Alright awesome. As far as TMS vs. BW though.... just price difference? Or quality difference?

Because of course I would like to spend $50 less but for $50 more and the quality of injector is that much better, it is something I don't want to skimp out on I guess is what I am saying.

Awesome. I have a full oem rebuild on the m50 too. When I get these injectors on I will post up a dyno. I am hoping for 225whp.

You might get 208whp but 225 is s50/52 area or strocker build.

Edit: My thoughts exactly. I was gonna say that you should hope for 210 whp, and be extra happy if it is more. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's better that you expect it now than after paying for dyno time. That's always a bummer..

Hmm. I see. I guess I was ill-informed. Thanks for sharing though. I guess all I can hope for is 210whp. It just feels so comparable to my old s13 with sr20 that had 255whp and 247 ft/lbs of torque.

24# are overkill on an m50, regardless of the s50 cams and 540 MAF. :crazy:

I have them on my s52 because I had to get a new chip anyway, and I found them cheap. On certain tunes, especially my TMS tune, they run pig rich up top and actually hurt performance. Osh cleaned that up on the dyno, but he said they didn't add any more power then stock s52 ones.

It's nice to have them since I'm putting my reground cams and tune in, in the next month, but whatever. :-D

Haha Mazur Muzzlewerkz = 7+hr engine install and cuztum cam timing




190 bhp + ok cams = 209 bhp
209 bhp+ 540HFM = 209.99 bhp
209.99 bhp + exhaust goodies = 215 bhp.
215 bhp + proper toon = 222 bhp

222bhp = !~190whp or 198 dynojetHP
