    Engine mount arms/brackets

So the dealer wants $150 for a set of these, and the only junkyard around has a 328i but no M50 cars. Are the E36 M52 and M50 engine mount arms interchangeable?

Thanks for the help. (I did a quick search and came up with nothing)

      Same between:

      All E36 including M3
      M52 Z3 (2.8 )
      Z3 M roadster and coupe

Sorry, was at work and needed to know quickly because I wanted to start the swap soon. But it turns out the junk yards are worthless.

Yeah, the M/S50/52 engine mount arms are all the same, as long as they are from an E36. E34 arms wont work. Z3's might work, but I dont know.

Dont think I'll ever do another swap without the entire donor vehicle.

Haha. I bought my S52 as a complete assembly and bought a wrecked VANOS M50 E34 from a customer for $600 for the OBD-1, oil pan, throttle cable, etc-- great investment.

Yeah, it's useful to have a complete engine for your first M50 swap. Next time though, you can probably put an engine together from scratch.

I have the complete motor, harness and ECU from an E34

Only real thing I need from the E36 is the damn arms.

And as for the donor vehicle... well I don't even have a garage, the fact that I'm doing to do the swap is retarded in the first place, I doubt I could manage to part a donor on the street of a busy college town without some unwanted attention.

...That is not to say that I don't agree with you. ;)

Would you mind taking a picture of the intake side of your complete motor under the intake manifold? I bought a bare s50 without the intake or vacuum system and then I bought a e34 m50 intake manifold. The guy who sold me the intake just gave me a box of mixed e36 and e34 parts. He said that some of the parts were supposed to go with the e34 manifold but he didnt know which. I have searched and all I can find is e36 engine pics and real oem is a little vague in that area. I think it is pretty similar to the e36 but the rear manifold bracket is different and I want to know what the clamp that brings the metal fuel lines together connects to

It took me 8 months to build my car from a completely empty chassis to its current standing. Patience is key.
