    Coding Plug Mod E30M3

Has anyone bought an E28 M5 coding plug 62111377664, opened the case and fixed the guts to the M3 cluster?
    pix?

May or may not be as cost effective as the Dakota Digital conditioner, but is claimed to be dead nuts accurate.

I was hoping someone else had done this mod.
The problem with experimentation in this case is that a new coding plug costs the same as the Dakota digital unit.

How much is the Dakota digital unit? I can get the coding plug new for $37.

37? that sounds good. I'll have to hunt around.
Dakota Digital is around $88-92 shipped new maybe.
I have an aftermarket sequential shift light kit which will simply plug into the Dakota unit as opposed to splicing into the diag conn T1.

Someone installed it on an S50b32 motor and it worked fine at S14.net

The M5 cluster/reading hits 8k rpm so it make sense from a calibration standpoint one to one as S14 tach
