Sometimes they fight more than other times. No particular reason. It's a random thing. If you have only bled your car once or twice ever, you probably havent run into the problem. When you bleed a couple hundred a year, one might bite you.

trust me, this isnt my first time around em. my car had a bad hose and thermo problem when i bought it a while back. i would bleed the car once or twice a day for about a week or so. i understand it can get frustrating, but its once someone gets flustered shit starts getting messed up because they want it done right then and there.

It also seems to have escaped your esteemed attention that quite a few thermostats DO have a bleed hole.

look, dont get your panties in a bungee cord knot here kid, my point is, this car doesnt. why go through with even more hassle?

BMW didnt design it to come with one, the thermostat itself turns into one giant bleed hole, so take your freaking time and do it right and follow the directions.

your the kind of guy who will reinvent a freaking wheel, when the wheel itself is working fine, and has been since creation.

I learned this morning, if you are really patient, it will bleed with no modification to the tstat. Took me about an hour.
