What sender did you use? Did the cluster/temp gauge work BEFORE your swap?

did you use the m20 brown top sender for the gauge cluster? It's a single pole sensor that you should have either tapped the head and put it in there or put it in a coolant line somewhere.

I just started my twin cam this weekend, used the brown top 1 pin M20 sensor and it works with the 318 cluster.

              Yep.

And make sure that the plugs are in the right spot. That's not your problem, cause you already know the sensor is incorrect, but I thought I'd mention it. A coworker plugged these in while I was messing with something else and got them in backwards. Car still ran fine so somehow the brown top didnt hurt the signal to the ECU too bad, but I had no gauge until I swapped em back.

I tried changing the brown top sensor out last weekend, needs a 19mm wrench. Didn't have one and the 12" crescent didn't fit very well, will tackle again next weekend.

You shouldn't have an issue finding the right plug for it, i think it's the only single prong plug on the harness. Plenty will fit but i think it's the only one that is single prong.

BTW,the blue one is for the temp sensor ECU,NOT the gauge....so its the one beside the blue thats single spade thats for the gauge....right!!

When I did the b35 swap it used BLUE for the ECU and BLACK was for the cluster..I used a 2 prong brown M10 temp sender in place of the BLACK one and it's working just fine
