    Driveshaft help

So I put in the driveshaft today, e36 5 speed shaft from 325i using stock 4.10 rear end in my 318is, and 240 trans with e30 center support bearing.

The driveshaft only slips onto the spines about 1/2 way... pushing it all the way on like it was factory (about 2'' further down) will make it so the guibo can't be bolted to the trans output flange.

    Any suggestions/help/pictures?

    Thanks guys

I'm not sure... lol. I pressed it on so it's oriented nicely with the dust plate on the back section of the driveshaft. I think it's "normal".... it has the driveshaft at what looks like a slightly off angle. Looks like I may need to flip it. How can you tell which is the "front" of the csb?

I read that people loosen up the slip joint to make it fit... and it does... but I'm sketched out that it SHOULD be on further

Thanks... I want to drive this thing!

The CSB should be on forwards and you need to strech the DS a bit in the middle

With everything bolted up... here is the gap I'm talking about that is sketchy:

          Is that ok?

In the first picture, the "hump" on the CSB that is larger on the left is the driver side of the car- the shaft with the U joint being the rear half

I guess 1.5'' is acceptable... nice

I just put the e34 throttle cable in as well, the bracket is coming tomorrow. Don't you just love all the little problems that no one ever mentions

so final conclusion is that the e30 CSB needs to be mounted forwards (NOT BACKWARDS) on an e36 325 driveshaft??

people talking about both ways... i dont know which is right

Mount it the normal way you would put it on a e30 driveshaft.
