    oil dipstick tube bracket mod?

My s50 swap has a loose oil dpstick tube. The swap doesnt have a place to brace the tube. What did you all do?

you can make a small bracket about an inch-half long and bolt it to the intake bracket that runs beside it...pretty easy mod

my dipstick tube came from a 725i (kinda rare, i know) it actually had a v/u shaped bracket on it that mounts to two holes in the side of the block and a bolted clamp that wraps around the tube. it is very secure. i was thinking that the 525i had that bracket too. why don't you have a look at real oem? i would bet it is less than 10 bucks.

It's been a while since I looked at doing this, but if I recall correctly the 525i bracket won't work for some reason. I think it might be because of the e36 motor mount arm. I bought that bracket a long time ago. Maybe I'll take a look at it again to see what it would take to make it fit.

Leave it to you to do something like that Yoshi... lol

I made a bracket today, roughly 6" long out of aluminum. Shaped it into an L and drilled 2 holes. Made it right my 1st try WOOT! Now it doesn't move when I pull on it and its sturdy :)
