what is the best way to tune a supercharged bmw?

ummm no your tms chip is the original DME with a tms chip in it, a standalone replaces the original computer with something else completely usually it replaces most of the engine sensors with others as well.

btw i came across this a while ago in the FS section a haltech E8 standalone for 1500 obo, it is from a month ago though and it was slated for ebay so it might be gone

so my turnermsport chip is a standalone then. Cool. I guess a supercharger kit is all I need then, with my chip retuned. So no internal work recommended?

no the chip is just a program for the factory computer....
think of it as software to a computer that must be updated everytime you change something...

and a standalone is a computer that can have any software changed when ever with a open program ...

Now that makes more sense. But there is no need for internal work when running a supercharger? The s50 can handle that power with stock internals?

i'm sure it depends on how much boost you are running. by the way what would be a good safe threshold limit for boost in a stock engine with and without an intercooler? there is a local guy around houston that posts under "stuck" with a supercharged e30. i think he would be a good resource. i haven't seen him around this forum in a while, though.

That's the infamous Jordan. He has an Active c-38 kit, but it's an actual kit. He wont be able to help you with tuning, but probably could provide help/advice on the install.
