    Help Please.

Went to turn the key over on rebuilt m50 and the injectors are not pulsating. When we gave it a shot of starter fluid the motor fired up and ran until the fumes burned off. I changed the knock sensors. But the cam and crank are from the pre rebuild. Before I pull the intake off, does anyone know if one could put the cam sensor and crank sensor plugs back on to the harness reversed? In need of ideas as to what it could be. PS. Called Jon from Treehouse again for help with the wire hook up to get it to turn over , And He was very helpful over the phone. Well worth the money if wires/electrical are not your thing, as is the case here.

I would be willing to bet your injectors are clogged or that fuel has not made is way up to the fuel rail yet...

+1 use ethier a gauge to messure pressure or do use a stop watch and measure how much gpm you have.

The injectors were sent out to get cleaned and tested, so I dont think its that (I should have said that at the start, my bad. Also when I installed the injectors I did not push them in all the way , and when we powered up the fuel it started to leak. So we know the fuel is to the rail. Yes I did fix the leak before the start up,Everything that I have in the car that is used ,came from the same donor car and it ran before I had the engine rebuilt.Turner chip(ews) treehouse adapter ect...I bought new.

Think about it. You used starter fluid and it started right? It has ignition sence it burned the fuel. Its somthing fuel related.

Thanks e30s52, I started to think what could be holding back the injectors, I had the 25 year old 4cyl in there and was thinking, is the pump going to get enough psi to the rail? My DME was just sitting in the car because i did not have the correct bracket, Do you think that could cause any problems?

No, I drove my car for a week with out the bracket. It could be a number of things. You might have a clogged injectors like greg said, clogged fuel filter, or maybe a pump on its way out. Pull the main fuel line off the rail, then put the line inside a plastic coke bottle or somthing similar to that. Turn key into the KOEO position and count to 15 seconds. If it fills 75% of the bottle then the pump and filter are good and your problem is further up. If it doesnt put that much out then you know what could be bad.

              Hope that helps.

Okay I hear what your saying, although I dont think the injectors are clogged, because I sent them out to Witch hunter and had them cleaned and tested, They came back with a flow chart and all . Thanks e30s52 for the coke bottle idea, I will try it later after work and report back .

check for voltage @ the pump while cranking.

Also jump the wire @ the c101 connector with 12v and see if you can start your car with 12v on the fuel pump wire. That will help you diagnose the fuel pump relay.

Also make sure your send goes to the front part of the fuel rail.

Cool of you Dudes to help out , It is good to know you have people online that will give out their knowledge. Okay when I got home , went and did what e30s52 said and I pulled the fuel line, then turned the key to on for 15 seconds and got like 2 tablespoons of gas in the bottle. The treehouse adaptor had 3 wires that I am to hook up somewhere behind the glovebox and have not done that yet. I know one of them is labeled fuel rate. Do you think That is the problem and I need to hook it up to get this thing to run? when I went to start it the first time it leaked a good amount of gas out the rail,as for the pump well I drove the car down to the shop for the swap and it was fine at that time . Fuel line was hooked up to the first line toward the front of the car .I think Saturday I can get a buddy to help with the voltage check, Thanks for the lookout on that jrdeamicis.

+1 or the fuel filter is clogged. You should have the bottle almost full in 15 seconds.

The filter only has about 4k on it ,however the car sat on a estate for three years before I brought it back from the dead, Okay I think the next test is to pull the feed hose off from under the filter can and see how much flow I get. What about that wire from the the adapter ? What is your feed back , I am going to get them in this weekend anyways. Thanks z31 maniac and others for your thoughts. I am so close to getting this car to run, and last week I did the swap and it was so cool to do. Yes the road was well paved for me , If not then the swap would have never happened.r3v made this happen for me . Thanks

The best way would be from the pump to see if the filter is bad but sence it has been sitting so long then I kinda suspect the filter.
