Pin # 28 on Red label 413 DME

My car has been driving perfectly for a few months now and a couple of days ago it died coming into my drive way. I thought it was the fuel pump relay or the pump itself, but its not. I took the dme out and noticed that pin 28 was was gone. Would that make the engine stop running? It turns over but wont start.

Also fuse # 18 in the E30 fuse box was burnt out, replaced but still wont start, not sure if its related

    any input would be appreciated

    thanks

ohh btw the wire that goes to the pin is brown/orange and called the Sheild Ground if that at all helps

It looks like that ground is for the Crank position sensor, so if that doesn't have a ground it won't tell the DME to fire the coils...
