    Swap done, problem after swap

Hi guys... I'm new here and I have one question for anyone who can help. Before 2-3 months my friend and I started swap oin his car. Car used to be 320i 1987. year, 4-doors... Engine for swap was E34 M50 B25 TU 93. year.. I'll put pics, i don't have any at this moment. We had some mini problems with few things but engine is under the hood and it's all ok with it but one thing not. When engine revs up to 6k RPM it starts misfiring, and in that case you can change the gear but it's still misfires for about 1-2 sec. Spark plugs are new, fuel filter too, we thought it might be fuel pump so the pump is now E36 325i. Cranshaft sensor is ok, no vacuum leak 100%... Help...

The coil packs are notorious for going bad. I had two bad coil packs and the others were questionable with weak spark. Pull the spark plugs one by one and look at them, if they are greyish brown they are healthy, if one is darker or smells like fuel the coil pack is probably the culprit.

We will try with that, all sugestions are welcome... But i don't think that this problem is so simple. Ok, i had problem like this in friend's E30 335 M30 and the distributor cap solved it , but... M50 is smarter, and I don't like his brain...hehe.. probably because M50 misfires... For now... :-(

Are they original 15+ year old coil packs? They WILL fail. I had one completely bad and the car was barely driveable. The second bad coil pack was only partially working and was causing a check engine light intermittantly (would go on and off every 30-60 seconds). The rest of the coils are probably crap as well. You will be amazed at how sensitive this part of the system is. Best of all, how much $ does it cost you to pull the packs and look at the plugs... ?

              Is the tach correctly calibrated?
If not, you may simply be hitting the rev limiter.

Hitting soft rev limit, 87 cars need a wire in the back of the cluster pinned to #14 on the c101

I wasn't able to be here for a while...so... On the wiring in the car there is a mark and it says 6/88. I think that this information says that it's not problem with that soft rev limiter... I don't know. We are going to try the new coil pack tonight... thanks for advice everyone.

Hello, again... We found some time to explore this shit, and we found out that the engine in car before 2.0 was 1.8 liter... So, on the instrument cluster there are 2 plugs (blue and white) and there is not any wire painted bl/wht so I need to know what pin is that wire on the cluster... It's not on the c101, and I think that it's not on the yellow plug, but I'm not sure because the car have not this one... And one more thing, when I disconnect DME for a while, after first start engine runs to 6500RPM whitout any problem, turn it of and then on shit starts again...
