    Timing cover - OBD1 vs. OBD2?

Is the only difference between the two timing covers that short metal pipe on the intake side that is epoxied in there? I thought there was a bigger reason for me going through the trouble of swapping them out.

The cover that came off my M52 and a supposed OBD1 cover I have, both have the same part number stamped on them. Only difference I can see is that metal pipe fitting.

To further confuse things, REALOEM shows a different part number for each cover, neither of which match up with the one stamped on either of mine...

Oh well, new gaskets are never a waste of time I guess...

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.
