    735i booster with E30 MC?

I'm thinking about using the E32 booster, but the remote-reservoir and odd master cylinder setup seems overly complex. Does the E30 master cylinder work in place of this, or would it be easier to just run a 944 or modded E21 booster?

    Thanks

Save you time and find a IX booster. That with an m5 or e34 mc works great and clears intake boot.

The IX booster is the same as the 735i booster.

You cannot use the original E30 master cylinder with either of those, UNLESS you use the e30 325IX master cylinder. Otherwise you need to use a master cylinder from an E34 5 series or M5.

the remote reservoir isn't too hard to set up. the reservoir from a 2002 should work nicely enough.

I thought you could use a e30 m3 MC also

@flyboyx: The 735i MC will work as well, and iirc its also 25mm.

@Mstngcbr761: Not to my knowledge, no. I don't think the flange will bolt up to the studs on the booster, but I might be wrong. Of course, it'd still be cheaper to grab a 735i MC or even a 5 series MC for the trouble and price of sourcing out an e30 M3 MC.

You can buy a 525i brake master cylinder new from BMA for about $160.

Thanks for all the info :)

@spaz-I though about the 944 booster, but there really aren't any in any of the yards near me. On the other hand, one yard has 5 735i's and 2 M50 525i's. I'll probably go with a 735i booster and e34 MC, just for convenience's sake.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the reservoir yet, but that shouldn't be too big an issue.

I used the complete 735i (e32) Booster, Master Cylinder, AND bracket. Master is actually the same as an e34 m5 also.

Oh, okay, that would definitely be the easiest route haha. I didn't know they were the same, and I couldn't find the info online. Although (duh) realoem probly would have shown the same part numbers haha

I used the e32 booster, spacer bracket, MC and the 2002 remote set up. Tight fit but not hard at all. I like the feel of the 25mm MC with my e30m3 brakes.

e32 735i used different boosters through the years.
