Driveshaft shopping for ZF320 Trans w/ E30 Diff

From reading the wiki site and the multiple sites with information it appears the 'proper' unit is the 328i/M3 late model driveshaft. It bolts in with zero modification outside of an E30 CSB.

It would seem then that a 325i E36 driveshaft would also work? Is that not true? I found one for a great deal but if I need to keep shopping I will.

Guibo is different on the Getrag 250. They are NOT interchangeable.

250? Only the early model 325s had that correct? 95 M3 and mid model 325s have the ZF310 I thought...

          No 325i has a ZF310. The NV 525i came with a ZF310.

what diff are you guys running with the ZF320 transmission? the stock 3.73 will be too high. Can I use an e36 diff and somehow put it into the e30 diff housing? if so, how?

but the late model e36 328, and m3 driveshaft bolts right up to the e30 diff input flange?

                    There are different E36M3 driveshafts.
You need the one with 4 fastener flange on the diff side.

                    I'm using a zF320 with E36M3 guibo, E30M3 driveshaft and center bearing.

I'm pretty sure all 188mm gearsets are the same. However, this would be a skilled operation to change the ring gear. You'd need to set the pinion gear to ring gear clearance correctly, otherwise it'd eat the nose bearings up. It'd also cost around $150 in parts.

If you have an E36 M3 LSD, sell it and buy an E30 diff.

I used my stock eta drive shaft (big guibo) with the ZF320 trans with my old S52 setup. Might not hurt to try to track one of those down.. Plug and play.

Doesn't the 96mm guibo eta driveshaft have 10mm bolts, though?

Not sure.. If I remember right they are 12mm with 19mm heads. I can check the I.D. of the flange holes when I get to work. Either way the fitment was perfect in my application. The only difference between the eta shaft and e30 M3 shaft was the fact that the u-joints at the CSB were on opposite sides of the CSB.
