260 with modified crossmember?

when using the getrag with the modified cross member, is any modification of the shift linkage required to compensate for the 10deg rotation of the tranny?

You dont have to but you can just twist the selector a lill bit.

I had to twist my selector rod more than 10 degrees to keep the shifter straight, and bend it a bit to shorten effective length. The angle's still too far forward but I don't want to try and bend the selector rod any more.

well, if you want to do it right, i suggest this:



everyone talks about bending the carrier. i tried that and found 2 problems. it made the carrier a bit short, and also i broke it as the metal is somewhat brittle. the photo above is actually part of my broken carrier and another one i had laying around welded together to give me the extra length needed to make it fit right.

mattdk318i was making them but had some negative rep about turn around time and people not getting there parts after sending in their cores. I luckily got to buy one off someone that went through the process with him and acutally got his.

He sent me a pm a few weeks ago asking if I was still looking for one, so I'm assuming he is still making these. However, if it were me I would find an alternative method. Just didn't want you to spend money with someone before knowing who your getting involved with.

yea, the only turnaround problem was cores, Im obviously still here. And i made everything right with everyone.

Ive put a hold on them unless i get sent cores.

that is straight bs Justin sent you cores and it was another 3 months before he got his stuff AND you never refunds the core charge
