    m50 swap clutch question............

I was wondering if anyone has used or knows of anyone that has an m50 with a getrag 240, using the m42 flywheel and clutch setup?

I know that the flywheel is heavy and i have done plenty of searching and i know i can use the m20 flywheel, clutch kit, and 323i TOB.

Its just that i have a complete m42 drive train and access to a brand new clutch kit for very cheap.

I am trying be as resourceful as possible to make my swap as cheap as possible.

thanks in advance for any input.

the m42 clutch isn't going to work too well with a 6 cylinder...

Also, I've seen a few reports of the M42 240 not being strong enough for hard use with an M50, although others haven't had any issues.

Just get M20 stuff. Junkyard it if you must.
