    M50 cam options

I´ve got a single vanos head without cams.

What are my cam options, can I install non vanos cams?
Or must I get cams from single vanos engines?

I don´t have the vanos unit and don´t really want it. So the cam timing will be fixed.

I don´t need to hear about the joys of having vanos. I just need to hear what exactly can be installed there that comes from a M50 based engine(no US S50/S52 here in the UK mind you)

According to this thread I can use non vanos cams when using non vanos lifters and trays.

So I think I´ll be sourcing 320i intake cams as they are the same 240deg duration as non vanos m50 ones, they are just timed 6deg different. I was going to mod the timing gear anyway to allow me to set the powerband as best as possible.

If anybody has any further info I´d like to hear it.

dual NV intake cams will give you 240/240. i don't know how to time that tho.

Almost anything will work as long as you have the trays/lifters with it.

      Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

Well I´ll use a dial gauge and time it as suggested by catcams website or equivalent.
        i.e
lift at TDC. Should be pretty easy.

I don´t have the budget to ship cams between countries.
240deg cams will do fine for 500hp anyway.

            Thanks.

I´m hoping to stay below 1.5bar boost.
