    OBD conversion

I recently bought an M52 to swap into my car. Is it worthwhile doing a full conversion to OBD-I or should I just do the intake swap? Right now I have a Siemens MS41.0 DME, so I can't hop on the Turner Motorsport Shark chip bandwagon because they're for Bosch DME's. And while on the topic, should I import a red label 413?

Nevermind. Spoke to Justin at Shark and I've misunderstood. The US also got Siemens DME's, they're just calibrated differently which is why they won't work, but he says the MS41.0 is OBD-I? Now I'm confused, because I'm pretty sure I should be OBD-II.

Someone, please, lay this all out for me...

oBD2 full conversions are becoming more documented, still harder electronics wise and if you want to fit the secondary air pump, 4 02 sensors, EWS etc etc then go for it. OBD1 is much easier, less crap and is extensively documented. Not sure on the DME but red label Bosch 413 is what you want to use for obd1. Pretty sure your dme is for OBD2.

You are having a euro/US issue.

MS41.0 is OBD1, but it's not what the US had for OBD1.

When we talk about OBD1 on this forum, we mean Motronic 3.3.1 AKA the "413" and "506" ECUs.
