    NV M50 to S50

    Alright, I was changing the spark plugs today, and I discovered some very depressing news. The swapped E30 I bought half a year ago has some bad oil problems. There was a puddle of oil in the spark plug hole, and the plugs were soaked in oil.

    So, needless to say, I was looking for a reason to get rid of the M50 and get a little more kick from an S50.

    My question is (I have done some research about swaps, but I could definitely have more knowledge on the subject) what do I need to do in order to swap an S50 into my E30.

    Some info on the car.

    - Wiring was all done by the PO, and he did a good job, but it isnt done with a simple connector some members make, and I am not confident with wiring.
    - Has the M5 motor mounts, and the appropriate oil pan to make it work.
    - E21 brake booster
    - E36 transmission mated to the M50

    It has all the things done to it in order to make the M50 work.

    If you have any questions or need more info please feel free to ask.

    So, can anyone give me a list, or point me in the right direction to find a list of items I am going to need? The E30 wants to step up and run with the big boys.

    have you ever thought about replacing the valve cover gasket seals first?
    The oil could of filled the plug hole and when you pulled the plug out it would have got on the tip.

    Anyways if you have a NV M50 and you want to go to S50 your gonna need a complete S50 drop out and just switch your oil pan over.

      A nonvanos Harnes & ecu are no good for any vanos motor.

          +1 on the valve cover... they go bad and leak oil down into the plug holes, then when you remove a plug it will get coated with oil & the socket. No reason for alarm...yet!

            Yeah, those guys are full of shit.

            You got oil on your spark plug, that motor is trash. The harness, ECU, oil pan, clutch, brake booster, none of that shit will work on your new motor.

            Now that you know the truth, I will offer to get all that shit off your hands.

            $450 shipped should cover it.

            Go get to getting that stuff out of the car, time to go play with the big boys now.
