    Epic win.

So today I went salvage yard hunting. The first yard had a new 528e that I was hopeful about the differential. I got there and it was already picked over, it had been set YESTERDAY! ARGH.

    I left. I was pissed.

I decided to try a smaller yard after a call revealed they had an 87 325 on the premises. I went over and had to lug my tools, no wheelbarrows booo.

Found the 325, it was a 91, so I figured they had another. It was picked over too, but I got a couple trim pieces just for giggles.

Helped another guy get some parts from a saab, since he wasn't too bright. Asked if he'd seen any other bmws, and he pointed a couple rows over.

I trudged over, then found it. It had been set yesterday, and was in great shape.

Quick plug of the vin into realoem...87 325e.

    I scored big time:

Drive shaft to fit with my zf320!! $25

    Differential...

I was rejoicing because of this:

    It was $75.

The car had 115k on the clock.

I'm 3 parts away: 413 dme, obd1 harness, and brake booster.

I pulled out the seats so I could more easily get to the carpet cleaning etc... here are some dirty interior shots....

they will also serve as before shots, since I'm re-upholstering the whole interior.

Well it's been more than a day since all the cleaning, so i figured i should put up some more pics...

The bay was still dirty, so I got out the purple zep and soaked it, then took the pressure washer to it again. :)

I just had to place the e28 m5 mounts in there...just to look. :)

I need to look up where people moved the charcoal canister, as this is obviously not going to work...

Pics tomorrow. A little disappointed with pressure washing, but then I didn't use anything but water. :)

I also yanked the seats(getting re-upholstered by me - stay tuned for extreme diy).

While taking pics I noticed I hadn't removed the old engine mounts yet. How retarded am I? So I pulled those out too.

    crazy pics tomorrow.
