I have push the spring loaded tensioner pulley to remove the belt and pulleys in order to drop the engine in. now the engine is in, i put the belt back on, but now it's loose! i was searching online and on the forum but no answers. please help.
how do i tighten the serpentine belt on the s52?

Yep, you've got the belt routed wrong. Look at the diagram:
From the water pump over to the tensioner to the crank pulley. I used a torque wrench/breaker bar to "tighten" the tensioner bolt until it grabbed and released tension, hold the breaker bar and install the belt, then release and it'll tense up.paint sucksComment

guaranteed that is routed wrong if it fit once upon a time.. unless you removed the power steering pump.. you can't remove anything else..No more e30s for me.
