RE: barbs
I have a source in the US for the M12 to 3/8 barb.
In AU, there is a place with the M18 1.5 pitch barb, but can't find it in the USA.

Has anyone killed a tre performance or walbro pump? I thought that was the easy high flow setupLeave a comment:

this is exactly what i used with the s50b32 at 75psi. i drove it over 15k miles without a hitch.Jason, on your prior S50B32 conversion, did you use the intank 255lph as a feeder? (or, was this EXACTLY what you did last time, I fear it is)
Strange, if it drops off so preciptously, and can't keep the pressure at higher flow rates, why did your S50B32 set up work so well, for so many miles?
(not critiquing any comments in here, just asking questions)
It is possible the pump was not a good one, they are mass produced items after all.
i do plan on using another 255L in tank in conjunction with the 044 in line. however, i want to get this done quickly and I am having difficulyt finding adapter parts. i am looking for the m18x1.5 and m12 to barb fittings. not having much luck.
appreciate all the input. thats what im now planning on doiing. cheers, jasonthe pump was probably being strained by the pressure/flow requirements, so it didn't last long. They're cheap pumps.. that's why people use them. the bosch pumps cost twice as much. but there is a reason they're used in race cars. :)
the bosch pumps are even better inline with an in tank "transfer" pump. Set up that way, they will flow WAY more than the 255lph pumps at higher pressure ratios.Leave a comment:

(or, was this EXACTLY what you did last time, I fear it is)i don't know the details, I don't have the inline pump - but lots of guys do. I bought the in-tank version (040) but it doesn't fit in the stock tank hole.. so I'll have to do some mods later on to make that work. or sell it and get an inline.
the thing about the bosch pumps is they are pretty linear with respect to pressure vs flow. the 255lph pumps are not. that flow figure is quoted at a lower pressure, and it drops of precipitously from the peak. The best way to run the inline bosch pump is with an in tank transfer pump like the early cars (the stock late model pump will work in this case) - you will never have a need for more fuel, unless you're doing well over 1000hp.
if you can get ahold of issac (blacktrail69) he has the bosch 044

the 040 is an in-tank version, the 044 is in-line. the 040 doesn't fit in the E30 tank hole like I said, it's much bigger than the stock pump.
I don't think you have to worry about the lines, as long as you've replaced them.Leave a comment:

It appears the 044 has an 18 x 1.5mm input and a 12 x 1.5mm output. Pegasus definitely has a conversion plug that allows a fuel sock to be placed in it as well. Is the 044 slimmer than the 040?
Are you guys changing the plumbing to deal with the additional fuel pressure? AN lines, maybe?Leave a comment:

bosch 044. You can mount it in tank... I think Pegasus auto racing sells a conversion kit for that. No idea if it will fit through the stock hole in the e30 tank since the pump is larger in diameter than stockLeave a comment:

I need this as well, I ended up killing mine and blowing out the rubber coupler between the dip tube and in-tank pump. Hope I didn't hurt the engine. :(Leave a comment:

what did you use for the m18x1.5 output? is there a m18 barb that is readily available?
I have a fuel pressure regulator that has a threaded (i think m18x1.5) input..... just like the 044 output. I wonder if there is a m18x1.5 to m18x1.5 to mate them up?

need 5 bar fuel pump recommendation
so, i had my car on the rollers this weekend. long story short, the 255 liter fuel pump slowly died. by the end of the day i was only getting 20-25lbs of pressure.
Looking for a fuel pump to mount in the stock location.
Internal or external mount. Either stock location.
Needs to run 5bar or 80psi.
thanks, jasonTags: None
