Thats too short of a time to really cause any serious damage in my opinion. Think of it like this... if you touch boiling water very quickly, you wont get burned. If you lay your hand on it for a full 5 seconds you will be screaming in pain.

the car pulls all the way to redline... and its a drift event so its kinda needed to have the tires spinning....
It'll be alright. I spun my E36 M3 up to 10.5k rpm once when I missed a shift at the top of 3rd (roughly 7-7.2k) and put it in 2nd instead of 4th. That scared the hell out of me. I had never missed a shift in any of my Getrag'd E30's or any other car for that matter. My M3 is still fine now 5-6k miles later at 173k.
