    To add cat or not

ok reason for this post is to get some idea's... I live in VA DC area where we do have emissions... now.. i can take care of that if i dont have a cat.. anyway.

    Current exhaust setup

    SS longtubes
2.5" exhaust all the way back
    Magnaflow 6"x15" center muffler
    Vibrant 2.5" in / Dual 2.5" out

now... should i add a 2.5" cat or not? im not sure if adding one will hurt the performance of the car or help it.

    Motor:
    M50
    S52 cam's / Trays
    intake
    TMS chip

also i will say that to some of my friends they tell me it feels faster then my 95 M3 i had.. now idk if that is because of the weight diff but i know the M50 is only rated for what 180hp? but dont really know how much the cams hp the cams are getting me.

    Any ideas?

If i add a cat should i take out the center muffler?? i know the cat will change the sound of it and i could pass emissions the right way.

I ran this unit which is nice because it is an x-pipe as well.

I'd add a cat if I were you. It's just stupid not to, you pollute literally ten+ times as much without one and you really don't gain more than 1-2hp.

As far as power, you're probably around 190whp, maybe a tiny bit more.

man, if i were you, i would install the cat. the reasons mentioned above should be good enough reason to do it. i'm not a tree hugger, but why be selfish and pollute the environment like that when you don't have to. what happens if down the road, the pencil whipping shop that gives you a pass goes out of business?
