water temp on M50

so i have been rolling with the 93 m50b25tu for about 3 months now when i did the swap i made my adapter harness i referenced akg site with the pins an what they do...as far as i know i have it done correct, the car is a 89 325i motor is /\ as above a 93 m50tu, as far as i know the water temp gauge reads though pin 4 on the e30 side an 12 on the e36 side...but i still have no temp gauge i replaced the sensor on the head still nothing...any help would be awesome
