Turned key for 1st time... no crank?!

I turned the key tonight for the first time on my 1989 325is -> e36 328is (obd1 swap), and key "on" my lights come on everything is good, check engine light, etc. when I turn the key to "start" I get NOTHING... I checked power to the starter, 12v, I checked the relay and power is going through, but I don't here it clicking.. but fuse 10 (which is on the other side of the relay) IS getting power.

So I'm guessing that my starter is not hooked up right, because there is the main always on connector (no brainer on the connection there), then there are the other two black wires that go to the solenoid which might be hooked up backwards? What would happen if this were the case? They are a pain in the arse to get to. OR starter is bad??? I have DME 413 RED Label with TRM chip as well.

    Ideas?

Bring it to my house when it runs. That's what I've got to say. If you were my sister's boyfriend I'd tell you to put it in park. I'm hoping that's not the fix for you.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

Is this a riddle? OR are you oddly suggesting that since I did a auto to manual swap that the car is not in 'park'?
EDIT: When doing an e30 auto to manual swap do you need to bypass the "automatic transmission range switch" ? ... I think I've figured this out. It was an auto car before we started the swap.

AHAH! Your riddle lead me to the right place. Someone had done a hack job to the old e30 harness and there was a loose wire in the glove box that lead a power lead to the "automatic transmission range switch". Throwing power to that allowed me to start the car. However immediately it reved way too high and then discovered the throttle cable was connected in the top plug, when it needed to be plugged into the bottom on the throttle <-- set that, but battery died when I was re-adjusting the throttle to the right position.... soooo close!

P.S. "Red88" - Are you 24 valve as well? I really come across any other beemer geeks in Tucson so cheers; if you'd like to meet up let me know.

Hell yeaah, Not to many of us in Tucson, so I'd gladly buy the beer! It was 2 in the morning when I got it running + started adjusting the throttle cable down when the battery died on me. When I get off work I'll post the new conclusions.

Wait, your battery died while you were doing what exactly? Are you sure the alternator's hooked up right and functional?

Good job dude, you're so close.

Alternator is working + charging. I ran the car for at least 3 mins yesterday and i don't think I'm getting every cylinder, because its pretty rough... I'm going to throw in some injector cleaner + start the "tests" when I get a free minute to finish up. If I have trouble still I'll post a video.
