    M50 Nitrous

I can't seem to find any info but,

I've been tossing around the idea of putting a shot of nitrous through my M50NV. I was thinking 75-100hp shot. I can't seem to find too much info on anybody running nitrous on a M50nv or M50's for that matter.

A guy I know has a Fogger system (fuel and nitrous sprayed into the intake tract for those who don't know) with a 20lbs bottle and jets from 50-200hp, fuel and nitrous solenoids, lines and electical for it.

I know you need to run colder plugs, and watch the AFR (he said you should richen it up with a adjustable FPR) but do you have to do anything with timing etc? Or can you run it on stock management with a little added fuel?

    Thanks
    Sam

In regards to timing, I read somewhere 2 degrees retard for every 50hp shot. Also to run a window switch for low and high rpm shut off.

Still need to find someone who has done it lol

I would look on an e36 forum with 10,000 m50 cars rather than an e30 forum with 100

Be careful with nitrous. You will want to run a "wet" shot, which has a certain mixture of fuel and n02. A "dry shot," pure n02 can easily blow your motor if used improperly. Also make sure to get your car tuned for the nitrous set-up. You need to richen your fuel mixture to ensure that you don't lean out the motor.

I wish I would've ran nitrous on the m20 that came with my e30 before swapping in the s52. Nitrous is an amazing thing, but it's made for strong American engines that were built for that kind of abuse. :p

Deffinatly not into nitrous I like power all the time vs with the flip of a switch but to each his own, do have to agree it is a great thing done right though

A proper nitrous systems are much more then just a flip of a switch.

A nitrous system can be tuned to come on progressively in each gear, and can also be used to spool a monster turbo. Nitrous is made specifically for drag racing. No turbo can give you the instantaneous thrill of nitrous, no matter how much boost you're running. :p

The system the guy has is a fogger system, but it's wet. So it's a fuel and nitrous mixture in one nozzle. Only thing I'd be concerned about is hitting the limiter and going lean. But that can be fixed with a window switch.

My brother and I used this product in the past with great success.

Its probably the easiest way to get instant power safely with the least cost and research.

                  They have a BMW kit

I was thinking of using their (Zex's) window switch and TPS controller.

Their BMW kit is a dry setup, I want a wet setup.

Direct port with all the goodies!! There is a good nitrous thread on bimmerforums.com. Lots of info! N02 is killer nothing like it as stated above. The only thing I can't stand is filling that bottle over and over.

Yeah, but if you're not on the bottle a lot it shouldn't be too bad. The only reason I wouldn't want to do it is because I will have to refill the bottle.

Zex is so cheese ball. Don't get that.
At the very least get NX.
And by very least, I mean that shit is bottom of the barrel too.

Yeah, nitrogen dioxide is pretty killer. ;)
