    Clutch Master Cylinder...

For everyone that used the M3 tranny with there S50 swap, did you have to change out the master cylinder as well? I am having a problem with the clutch not disengaging until it is almost a 1/2 an inch off the floor. II bleed the slave and it made absolutely no difference. I read some more and have found that there are two different slave cylinders. one of .874 and one of .812 The one in the car right now is .874 what basically it seems to be the master cylinder is not pushing enough fluid so it the clutch does not disengage until it is almost 1/2 inch off the floor. I measured the slave off of the old engine and it is .812 however that slave will not bolt into the tranny. Does anyone know the size of the M3 clutch master cylinder so, maybe I need to swap that in, or any other suggestions. Thanks

Just in case anyone else runs into this, if you are doing the S50 swap with the M3 tranny, you need to use a slave cylinder from the 325. So you need the 20 mm one. Once that is swapped in it works great.

Yeah sorry I should of clarified that, the slave cylinder from the 260 will not fit in the e36 tranny. So you need to use the slave cylinder from a 325 or 318ti in the M3 tranny.

or i bet you could use the slave cylinder from the m3 cant you? i know that with e36 lightweight flywheel/higher performance clutch kits they recommend you put an m3 slave in as well...

No you can't unless you change out your master cylinder to one from the M3 and I do not know if that even bolts up or anything. With the M3 slave the master in the 325(E30), the 325(E30) does not push enough fluid. until the pedal is about a half of an inch off the floor, to diengage the clutch. The slave from the 325(E36) is the same size as the one from the E30 325 so it matches the master cylinder that you have with the car, and puts the engage/disengage point back to a more reasonable spot.
