    Brake booster discovery?

I was trying to decide what to do about a booster for the S52 swap and i gathered up all the boosters i could find in the shop. I may have made a new discovery. one of the boosters seems to be a perfect fit. I dont have my old booster out yet to make sure its a bolt-it but it looks good so far. The booster in question is from an e21 323i...i think. It was not labeled but it was in my stack of old e21 parts. From left to right looking at the master side #1 is from a 95 M3 for sure. #2 i think is just a regular 320i booster. #3 is a stock e30 booster for sure. #4 i think is the e21 323i booster. It sure looks to me like its going to bolt right in. cross your fingers, maybe this is the unmodified booster "answer".

And you did not have to modify anything to make it work?

I swapped forks I believe. I got mine from funk master and he said it would work. I have no clue though if it is a 323i booster or not.

The booster you have though looks identical to mine so give it a try.

Usually you have to shorten the e21 booster's pushrod. But that 323i one looks to be near the right length! Nice score!

944 is the way to go and you can score them in any pick and pull. It is just small enough without killing boost.

Is it possible to insert a thick aluminum spacer between the brake booster and the firewall to make the rod not go as far through the firewall to the pedal?
Or would that make the E21 booster too far towards front of car?
I'm not sure I'm sold on the safety of the E21 brake booster pushrod mod yet.

That would make it go to far forward. You have to cut it and reweld it.
