    m50 ecu question

    I am in the middle of a m50 swap into my e30. I was missing the 413 ECU to make it run. Anyways in the local junk yard they got a '95 325i and it is a silver label 413. I am wondering if I need to buy a performance chip to over ride the BMW functions of the starting code or something. I read that a performance chip does the trick.

    Any info would be grand!

    I got the ECU for 38 bucks so buying the chip would make it the same price for a red label off eBay.

    I was planning on a Tuner Motorsport chip

      the silver label 513 has EWS.. the Red label 413 and the 506 silver label ECU's dont have EWS....

      so you will need a chip with EWS delete or find another ECU.

              I have chips, and you will not have an EWS problem.
